Hello from Carson City, NV! My name is Christiana Sorensen, I was born November of 1992 and have lived in northern Nevada for 17years. I am a 4th generation Nevadan. At 1-1/2 years of age I was diagnosed with Angelman's Syndrome, positive deletion. The day I was born my parents said "what a perfect little angel" & little did they know how prophetic those words would become!

When I was 2 years old I started to have seizures but have been seizure-free for about 5 years now. I am blessed with exceptional parents (Louise & Chris), loving brothers TJ & Michael (and his adoring family in Las Vegas) and a very active 5yr old nephew (Jordan), not to mention my crazed Corgi dog, Heidi. Over the years I have had exceptional medical care, physicians, therapists, teachers, school aides, PCA's and respite workers. God has blessed me abundantly! I'm a freshman at Carson High School here in Carson City, NV. Although I'm not able to walk independently, I have a cool gait trainer that I maneuver around the school grounds to get to my classes. Cooking class is way cool, and I adaptive P.E., speech, occupational and physical therapies daily. My peer tutors, regular kids who help us kids with *different abilities*, are awesome!

Before my scoliosis surgery in 2004, I was in hippotherapy & loved it.. Some of my favorite things are: playing in water & grass, hugging, being out doors, Elmo, road trips, and 'being the center of attention'.
